the national organization of which our state organization is an affiliate. PPA works to educate photographers, promote the field to the public, protect copyright, and defend photographers in
legal issues.

The P.P.O. Mission Statement
We are an association of professional photographers whose members strive for the highest artistic, business, and ethical standards.
We encourage the continuing professional growth of all our members, regardless
of their experience level, through a continuing program of
education and peer-to-peer networking.
We promote professional photography as an art form, elevating it's value
in the eyes of the consuming public.

The Professional Photographers of Oregon was established in 1946 to serve the working professional photographer. Though the field and technology has changed dramatically in those 60-some years, our mission remains the same. I hold a unique honor of being one of only two people to hold the office of President of the organization more than once, in 2005 and 2009. I regularly attend PPO schools, seminars, and conventions with the goal of continually improving my photography skills, and networking with other like-minded members. This is an organization I truly believe in and would not hesitate to refer any of my peers and friends within our great group of professionals.
